Attorney Steve Whiting is the son of a WW II Army veteran. In 1970, at the height of the Vietnam War, Steve turned 18. His draft lottery number was 200, and they only got up to 120 that year. Taking that as a sign from God, he decided to go to college, rather than enlist.
Steve graduated from Dartmouth College in 1974, where he majored in religion and government. He then went to the University of Virginia Law School, and passed the Maine Bar exam in 1978.
Since 1978, Steve has been practicing law in Portland, where he does work primarily for Christian individuals, Christian businesses, churches and ministries. Steve is also affiliated with the ACLJ, the ADF, and the Rutherford Institute to protect Christians’ constitutional rights of Free Speech and Freedom of Religion.
